Voor de tweede keer hebben we de eastern desert tour geboekt bij dhr Diaa Shawki. We leerden hem kennen in het Brayka Bay Resort waar hij een klein reisbureautje heeft.
En weer werden onze verwachtingen meer dan waar gemaakt. Diaa is een wandelende encyclopedie en kan prachtige verhalen vertellen over de geschiedenis en de geologie van Egypte. De uitleg over de sterren en planeten en zijn kennis daarover is enorm. Het kijken met de telescope naar de sterren is ook zeker de moeite waard. De trip is kleinschalig en erg goed verzorgd! Voor herhaling vatbaar!!
Meine Frau und ich haben die Kontaktdaten zu Diaa Shawki fast zufällig bekommen. Wir haben eine Wüstentour mit Abendessen und abschließender Sternebeobachtung mit ihm absolviert und haben es nicht bereut.
Herr Shawki organisiert alles perfekt, alles war bestens. Sein Wissen über Geologie, über die ägyptische Geschichte, sowie Astronomie ist beeindruckend.
Das für uns allerbeste war, dass es nichts mit den typischen Touristenausflügen zu tun hat, unsere Gruppe war mit 8 Teilnehmern übersichtlich und daher hatte auch jeder etwas davon.
Alles in allem kann man sagen, es ist nur zu empfehlen. Wenn wir das nächste Mal wieder in Ägypten sind, dann werden wir sicher wieder einen Ausflug mit ihm unternehmen!
Unsere Wüstensafari mit Diaa war sehr informativ und spannend.
Wir sind eine Familie mit drei Kindern und vier Erwachsenen. Alle waren begeistert.
Diaa hat uns die Wüste näher gebracht. Drei Stopps mit Erklärungen der Flora , Fauna und Geologie wurden gemacht.
Er hat ein sehr großes Wissen über die Geschichte von Ägypten und erzählt abwechslungsreich mit vielen kleinen Anekdoten. Es wurde nicht langweilig.
Später, in einem Beduinencamp, wurde uns ein ägyptisches Dinner serviert.
Bei Einbruch der Dunkelheit erklärte uns Diaa den Sternenhimmel.
Ein wunderschöner Ausflug ohne den üblichen Touristenrummel.
Ein großartiges Erlebnis für alle, besonders auch für die Kinder.

Op 14 maart ging ik met mr Diaa de woestijn van Marsa Alam in. We reden een stuk van de oude weg naar Luxor. Ik ken de woestijn van Marsa maar deze keer was de tocht heel bijzonder. In gezelschap van mr. Diaa Shawki kreeg ik meer te horen over de geschiedenis van Egypte dan ik ooit voor mogelijk heb kunnen houden. Mr. Diaa vertelde ons alles over de vijf pijlers van Egypte. Illustreerde dit met diverse stops op interessante plaatsen. Geen vraag was hem teveel. Ik ga echt niet alles verklappen, maar geloof mij het is de tour meer dan waard als je geïnteresseerd bent in geschiedenis, archeologie, ons sterrenstelsel en biologie van de woestijn. Er groeit zoveel als je het wilt zien.
|Het eten was meer dan voortreffelijk en veel te veel. Je bent echt zijn gast en die van zijn team. Gastvrijheid zoals ik die ken van de bedoeïen. Na het eten wachten tot het donker wordt om heel veel te weten te komen over ons sterrenstelsel. Waar vind je welke ster...
Ik heb ook El Quisier hoog op mijn verlanglijstje staan, Hopelijk in september van dit jaar met hem mee naar deze historische plaats.

In February this year we spent 2 weeks at Brayka Bay Hotel. It was our 3rd stay at this hotel, but only this time we decided to go on a trip with Mr. Diaa Shawki to the deserts in Brayka. His office is in the hotel lobby. It was an amazing experience, Mr. Diaa Shawki is very knowledgeable about the desert, history and constellations. We had the opportunity to see very interesting places, eat delicious local dishes in a Bedouin village and watch the stars and the moon through a professional telescope. The whole trip was organized very professionally. On the trip we were with children aged 12 and 6 - they were also delighted :) I recommend trips with Mr. Diaa Shawki with all my heart.
Naast de lobby zit het kantoor van Diaa Shakira van marsaalamadventuresafari.com . Diaa heeft bij national geographic gewerkt, is een gepassioneerde geoloog en woestijndeskundige. Hij heeft een aantal excursies op zijn website, maar wij hebben met hem overlegd en hij heeft voor ons een prachtige verjaardag georganiseerd in de woestijn. Een mooie grote tent aan de kust naast het nationaal park El Wadi, snorkelen op een plek waar niemand ooit komt (zelfs duiken kan). Veel uitleg gekregen over de woestijn, over het ontstaan van Egypte, het leven van de bedoeïen en de sterrenhemel bekeken met een telescope. Complimenten voor zijn team en de kok! Een unieke ervaring en Diaa heeft er echt een onvergetelijke ervaring van gemaakt.
Het was een geweldige beleving om met Diaa Shawki de woestijn in te gaan. In de jeeps gingen we op safari en liet Diaa ons de woestijn ontdekken. Hij vertelde hoe de omgeving zich heeft gevormd, over het ontstaan van de bergen met al het leven van planten en dieren wat zich er ondanks droogte bevindt en overleeft. Diaa is een bevlogen verteller en na alle uitleg begreep ik de kleuren van aardlagen en zag ik de veerkracht van de natuur. Een plaats waar bedoeïden al sinds eeuwen overleven.
Met groot enthousiasme wist Diaa mij te boeien over de geschiedenis en archeologie van Egypte, hij put dan ook uit de ervaringen en onderzoeken uit de tijd dat hij bij National Geographic heeft gewerkt. Daarnaast is hij afgestudeerd in hiërogliefenschrift en Diaa vertelde dan ook over de taal en het ontstaan van geschreven schrift, alle kennis werd ruimschoots gedeeld. Een aantal keren werd er gestopt waar Diaa dan alle tijd nam om meer te vertellen over het oude Egypte en om onze vragen te beantwoorden en waar we dan ook konden proeven en zien van de woestijnsfeer.
Uiteindelijk kwamen we bij een bedoeïdentent waar we konden zien hoe koffie wordt bereid, natuurlijk mochten we er ook van proeven, de koffie is verrassend lekker. Ook werd er brood gebakken op een manier die ik nog nooit had gezien en mochten we het ook proeven, de smaak was best goed. Inmiddels was het tijd voor het diner en toen bleek dat Diaa naast een hele goeie gids ook nog een geweldige kok is. Het was een smaakvolle maaltijd in een bijzondere sfeer op een nog bijzonder locatie, dit maak je nergens mee, wat een ervaring.
Tijdens de maaltijd was het donker geworden en gingen we genieten van de sterren in een muisstille pikdonkere woestijn. Na een uitgebreide uitleg over de sterrenhemel konden we met de stethoscoop de schoonheid van de sterren bewonderen. De adembenemende stilte maakte het zien van de geboorte van nieuwe sterren wel heel bijzonder. Wat zijn wij dan kleine mensjes onder een zeer groot universum.
Na deze dag had ik alleen nog maar meer ontzag voor onze prachtige planeet, de weerbaarheid van flora en fauna, de bedoeïden die er al eeuwenlang overleven, de geschiedenis van Egypte, de sterrenhemel die door de stethoscoop als diamanten zichtbaar worden, het was geweldige dag om mee te maken en om zoveel te leren over dit stukje aarde, het heeft veel indruk op mij gemaakt. Ik zie uit naar een volgende tour.

We’ve been on a desert Safari with Diaa in January 2022. This was an amazing trip into the desert where Diaa told us a lot about ancient Egypt, the landscape and it’s formation. The culture and nature. Diaa ‘s passion and knowledge about his beloved Egypt made us come back to Marsa Alam in March 2023 and arrange a second trip into the desert. The second trip was different form the first trip. Diaa prepared a lot of amazing food. We had lunch under a tree in a remote valley, saw wild donkeys and visited an abandoned leadfactory in the middle of the desert. Again a great experience! I wish we had more time during our stay to learn more. Wish we could have joined you on the tour to Luxor. When we come back to Egypt we know where to find our guide for our next trip!
We went for the first time on a desert trip with Diaa and it was a pleasure! He knows a lot about the Ancient Egyptian History and it was very interesting to listen to all the stories. First we went through the desert with some stops in between and he told us some details and we saw some foodprints of different desert animals. Later we went to a Beduine tent, where they prepared super delicious Egyptian coffee, bread and a very delicious Egyptian dinner. After the dinner Diaa told us some more stories and it felt like a bedtime story, as we were all super relaxed and we enjoyed it. Before we left the Beduine tent, Diaa showed as the Planets Jupiter and Venus, the stars and of course the moon with his telescope. That was a highlight! We learned a lot from him about the stars. Thanks again for the amazing trip to the desert! I totally recommend it!
Mehrfach schon sind wir mit Diaa unterwegs gewesen. Zuverlässig organisiert und informativ sind seine Touren. Mit viel Humor, unterhaltsam und fundiert berichtet Diaa von seinem Land, der Natur, den Menschen. Seine Fahrer und Begleiter unterstützen ihn wo immer es möglich ist. Mustafa unser Fahrer, demonstrierte uns auf seine Weise, wie er Umweltschutz praktiziert. Als Beduine war er sehr auf Müllvermeidung aus, und sammelte jeden erreichbaren Müll auf unserem Trip durch die östl. Wüste ein. Heilpflanzen erklärend, Brot backend im Feuer, ließ er uns einen kleinen Einblick in sein teilweise immer noch traditionell gelebten Alltag/Leben haben. Wir werden sehr gerne wieder mit euch Egypt erkunden
27 stycznia pojechaliśmy na wspaniałą wycieczkę z Diaa w kameralnym gronie- sześcioro turystów z różnych stron. Cudownie jest odkryć, że tuż za naszym hotelem zaczyna się inny świat, którego jako turyści najczęściej nie widzimy, bo jesteśmy zbyt leniwi. A wszystkie te cuda sa na wyciągnięcie ręki. Dziękujemy Diaa za czas, jaki mogliśmy z Tobą spędzić, relaksujące 6 godzin. Wiadomo- wyprawa na pustynię, gdzie drogi są tylko umowne, to relaks momentami osobliwy, ale tego właśnie oczekiwaliśmy. Tak naprawdę w wycieczce cieszy nie tylko pustynia, ale również osobowość samego Diaa, który jest ciekawym gawędziarzem, ma ogromną multidyscyplinarną wiedzę i coś więcej- czarujący sposób bycia. Wycieczka daje możliwość poznania wielu faktów z życia pustyni. Dla nas Europejczyków pustynia jest pustkowiem bez życia, Diaa pokazał nam, że to życie, czasem w formie bardzo szczątkowej, wciąż się odradza i zachwyca tą niezłomną siłą, by trwać wbrew wszystkiemu. Nawet góry kamieni mają swoje wielkie chwile, gdy współtworzą geologiczną historię. Diaa opowiada nie tylko o tym, co widzimy, ale odnosi się do historii wielkiego Egiptu, do jego symboli, tradycji, mitów. W czasie wycieczki pozwala turystom posłuchać ciszy. To jedno z najważniejszych doświadczeń i jedna z najprzyjemniejszych chwil- bo gdzie jeszcze tej ciszy możemy doświadczyć, gdzie możemy się w niej zatracać? Ostatnim przystankiem była osada- bo wioską tego nazwać nie można- gdzie mieszka beduińska rodzina. Tam miałą miejsce podwójna kulminacja wieczoru- kolacja, poprzedzona kawą , hibiskusem i plackiem przygotowanym przez śliczną Beduinkę, oraz oglądanie nieba. Diaa opowiadał o gwiazdach, planetach, księżycu- tym, co widzimy my i tym, co na niebie widzieli starożytni.To dobrze, że są jeszcze tacy ludzie, którzy chcą pokazać turystom surowe piękno pustyni, a nie tylko zabrać ich na szaloną wycieczkę quadami.Bo to nie jest wycieczka dla podniesienia poziomu adrenaliny, a dla wyciszenia się, kontemplacji, westchnień zachwytu.

We enjoyed the sunset tour in the desert. Mr Diaa Shawki has a lot of experience (he worked for national geographic) and knows everything about the history of Egypt, geography, the flora and fauna in the desert and he just finished his exams for the master degree of hieroglyphic writing. So ask him any question and he is able to explain it to you. The tour was really interesting! We loved the silence in the desert. The dinner was delicious and once it was dark and the milky way and planets appeared Mr Shawki showed us via his telescope the magic world of the stars and planets.
We were lucky to have a private tour and had a great time.
Hope to see Mr Shawki next year for another tour in the desert.
Onder leiding van onze gids, Diaa Shawki, zijn we op een fantastische manier door de woestijn getrokken met 2 jeeps. We hebben genoten van de kennis en de enthousiaste uitleg van onze gids over Egypte. De tocht eindigde met een heerlijke vers klaargemaakte maaltijd, onder de sterrenhemel in de woestijn. Daar hebben we met een telescoop die de gids bij zich had, Saturnus en Jupiter mogen bewonderen terwijl hij een indrukwekkende uitleg gaf over het heelal. Een zeer bijzonder tocht, met een heel bijzondere gids.
Our friends and us spent a wonderful time with Diaa in the desert. He knew a lot about the ancient times of antique Egypt and knows very well to explain it to the tourists. We visited Beduins who gave us a cordially welcome and an old woman living alone in a tent made an extraordinary coffee ceremony. She really impressed us. Later we had a very good Egyptian dinner in a small camp and in the clear sky the stars twinkle in the sky. Afterwards we could have a look at the stars and planets through a very good telescope. Mainly thanks to Mr. Diaa Shawki, we decided to take another tour to the desert. In 2021, we had gone for a short trip with him and immediatelly afterwards we decided we would come again for an over-night trip in the desert next year. We made it, and I think it was one of the best experiences in our traveling life. The desert is beautiful, and Mr. Shawki adds another dimension to the adventure because of his deep knowledge of such a nuber of areas. It was very enriching to listen to his explanations about nature, geology, astronomy, ancient history; it´s amazing. And I need to mention that we felt very safe with him which was important for us since we were taking the kids along. We plan to come for an even longer trip if it is possible and spend time more time with Mr. Shawki in this fascinating area of Egypt. Once again we joined Diaa Shawki for a trip to the Eastern Desert. In a small group we drove through the desert and stopped several times to get information about history, geology, flora and fauna or just enjoy the beautiful landscape. In the evening we had a delicious egyptian meal and watched the stars and even some planets through the telescope. After that, most of the guests left for their hotel. We were the only ones who stayed to spend the night in the desert.
A little tent had already been set up for us with cozy pillows and blankets. The best part was the double layer so you could lay down in the tent under the starry sky. It was absolutely fantastic to watch the different constellations move during the night and listen to the silence and peacefulness of the desert. Early in the morning we enjoyed the sunrise and were treated with a great breakfast before we were brouhght back to our hotel. Everything was very well organized and it was a once in a lifetime experience that we can recommend without a doubt.
We had a wonderful trip to the desert with Diaa - a real highlight of our trip to Egypt. It was a very unique experience and Diaa was extremely knowledgeable about the area, geology and Egyptian history, answering all our (many) questions! I particularly loved the time spent at sunset in the desert experiencing a glimpse of Bedouin culture and the stargazing - we saw both Saturn and Jupiter and I felt a learnt a lot during this special trip. We had a fantastic time doing the desert tour with stargazing. Diaa is very knowledgeable and full of great stories and facts. The food was great, and the mountain and stars were beautiful. Nothing compares to the peace and calm of the desert at night. Would definitely do it again. Highlight of the evening was seeing the moons of Jupiter. We also bumped into wild camels. We spent a wonderful evening with Diaa and his colleague driving out into the desert, seeing bedouin bread being made, having bedouin coffee and later a glass of wine under the dark sky while watching the moon and Saturn and listening to the stories that Diaa told us. He is a true renaissance man, his interests span maritime fauna, desert flora, bedouin culture, egyptian ancient and recent history as well as astronomy and spaceflight. The time on the tour passed so quickly that we are certain to go on tour with him again - there were so many stories we still need to hear! The art of storytelling has found a real master, we are very happy to have made Diaas acquaintance and can recommend hin, his team and their tours to all who plan their holidays ind the Marsa Alam area. We have had an amazing trip to the eastern desert to go stargazing. Diaa is an amazing guide, he's like a walking encyclopedia and all along the stops to the camp we were giving really instightful information about the history, geology of the location as well as the mythology sorrounding the constellations. Everybody was so nice and the dinner was so authentic and good. And the highlight of the evening watching Jupiter and Saturn was simply amazing. Thank you Diaa for the unforgettable trip and we hope to see you again on another trip!
We had a wonderful and memorable trip with Diaa in the desert, that we will never forget. We had serveral stops at different locations, where told us stories, infos and history. And he knows a lot of that! :-)
Diaa is that kind of person, that we could listen to for hours and it never gets boring. So time flow away very fast. After the sunset, our final stay was at a small beduin camp, where we had a nice dinner and handmade coffee/tea and bread.
After the dinner, he told is about the stars and constellations and we had the opportunity to watch the stars through his telescope in the dark and cloudless desert sky. Absolutely wow!

it was a great experience with a very fascinating explanation and beautiful clear sky it is definitely recommended to experience this unique experience it was simply great. I give it a 5 stars
Our private tour for 6 people (age: 25 - 50) started at 3pm. We drove into the stone desert. it was wonderful. With several stops in the desert we received explanations of the desert, geology, history, plants, animals and Bedouin culture. Our guide had plenty of cool drinks with him. At the last stop at a camp we were given tea and traditional Bedouin coffee. We spent our dinner there. When it got very dark, the very best came: the starry sky. Breathtaking, simply indescribably beautiful. Our guide had set up his telescope and we got deep insights into space. His explanations of planets and stars were fascinating. We were back at the hotel around 10 p.m. We can fully recommend this tour, perfectly organized.
What a great experience this was! We made several trips during our stay in Marsa Alam, but the desert trip with Diaa was by far the most memorable! He has an immense amount of knowledge about the trees, mountains and valleys we came across, as well as the ancient history of Egypt. This results in a trip full of interesting stories, with also a nice dinner! Looking at the stars at night in the desert is an experience I would definitely recommend!
WOW! 5 star review for this wonderful company and team. We really enjoyed the tours, diving and sleeping in the desert. Amazing experience and the crew is very fun, dedicated, good service and has a lot of passion and experience to share. Sleeping in the desert was wonderful, so quiet and such a clear sky! With their professional equipment we were able to see so many special stars and planets. And the food was delicious.
The kids also loved the desert tour and diving with their crew. They are so good with kids, that they feel completely comfortable and are eager to learn and enjoy.

We stayed near Al-Quesir last week and wanted to have a desert trip to have a good glance at the Milky Way without any light pollution. So we found and booked with Mr Diaa. But we have received a lot more than we expected. A lot of things to learn on this trip not only about Egyptian history on this tour through the stony desert. Really something else than those touristy trips you are used to. Exclusive tour with a lot to learn. Definitely to recommend!
Coffee and meal with a bedouin family just before stargazing. Totally amazing. Nobody there but us.
Last week my friend, Caroline and I enjoyed our stay in hotel Hilton in Marsa Alam.
We booked a tour 'Star Gazing' in the mountain dessert nearby our resort. Our guide, Mr Diaa Shawki Mikhall, lead us through the history of Egypt and the Middle East, geology, the bedouin life, the flora and fauna of the area and as top of the bill: exploring the stars by telescope. What an awesome tour! He prepared a delicious meal while we were drinking coffe and tea with the bedouins. We were delighted! Diaa is an amizingly good guide who knows to share his passion, his interests and his knowledge with his public.
Two days later we've had the chance to visit in his companion the city Al Quesir. Once more we were very pleased and gratefull to learn so much about Egypt.
last week we did the desert tour while staying in the Brayka Bay hotel. Mr. Diaa Shawki was driving himself and showed us the beauty of the arid landscape around Marsa Alam. He is a gifted narrator and told us a lot of the history, geology of the region we were visiting. We were lucky to have a cloudless and moonless evening, so the sky in the evening -total dakness- was breathtaking. Also here we were taught the history and background of the constellations that were clearly visible this evening. In conclusion: an unforgettable time, a must see for any tourist who is visiting the Red Sea and double thumbs up fot mr. Diaa Shawki who organised the trip..
Die Wüste hat mir schon viele Jahre lang gefallen, doch bis dahin kannte ich das Erlebnis mit Diaa noch nicht.
Der Ablauf der Wüstentour wurde schon mehrmals beschrieben. Das Besondere sind jedoch Diaas Erklärungen, sein profundes breitgefächertes Wissen und die Begeisterung, mit der er uns alle angesteckt hat. Warum Gold gegen Holz getauscht wurde, womit die Bildnisse der Verstorbenen haltbar gemacht wurden, damit ihre Seelen sie wieder finden konnten, Mythen, Geschichten aus 1001 Nacht....all das habe ich dabei erfahren
Wussten Sie, dass in einem Mondkrater die Asche eines Mannes ist? Wir hatten Vollmond und beinahe hätten wir durch das tolle Teleskop die Phiole von Shomakers erkennen können.
Dann das köstliche, von Diaa selbstgemachte Essen bei der liebenswerten Beduinenfamilie...
Nach diesem wundervollem Erlebnis habe ich ein paar Tage danach nochmals eine Tour mit Diaa gemacht, beeindruckend.
Ich freue mich auf Mai, da komme ich wieder ins brayka resort und werde mit Diaa hoffentlich einiges unternehmen können. Danke Diaa
We learned a lot from our experience in the dessert with mr. Diaa Shawki. He brought us with his car to very special places. For example a dead volcano and rocks with all sorts of minerals in it. He knows everything about this area and the great history of Egypt. Ask something and he knows it. He let us meet the bedoein people and he served a great meal for us. Afterwards we had a look in his telescope and spotted the stars and moon. Really amazing his knowledge about the universe.
This trip was unforgettable for us.
Найкраще, що можна зробити в будь-якій поїздці - це дізнатись щось нове про місця, які відвідуєш. І дуже добре, якщо вам пощастить знайти людину з фундаментальними знаннями геології, історії, астрономії та культури Египту, яка розповість багато пізнавального про країну та місця, які ви відвідуєте. В нас була надзвичайно цікава екскурсія в пустелю з містером Діаа. З кількома зупинками, зі смачним обідом з традиційних єгипетських страв та кавою. З розповідями до пізнього вечора. Сподобалось усім: і дітворі, і дорослим. Дякуємо, з великим задоволенням рекомендуємо! Та до нових зустрічей!
Es war ein besonderes Erlebnis, mit Diaa einen Nachmittag und Abend in der Ostägyptischen Wüste zu verbringen. Diaa bringt uns geologische und ägyptologische Zusammenhänge mit seinen äusserst profunden, wissenschaftlich hinterlegten Kenntnissen und mit seinem sehr feinen Sinn für Humor nahe und wirklich ALLE Teilnehmer der Tour verstehen, was er uns sagen will. Vom vulkanischen Ursprung der geologischen Formationen, über die Bedeutung des abgebauten Goldes und der daraus hergestellten Totenmasken, bis hin zur nächtlichen Himmelsbeobachtung mit leistungsstarkem Teleskop war wirklich alles dabei. Die freundliche Aufnahme in ein Beduinenlager und das hervorragende Abendessen dort, war das Sahnehäubchen dieser Exkursion. Ganz sicher war dies nicht der letzte Ausflug mit "Marsa Alam adventure safari"

Booked a sunset desert tour via our dive resort The Oasis at Marsa Alam. This was one of the best tours I have done, thanks to Diaa, our guide. He showed us a beautiful part of the Egyptian outback, told us stories about the Egyptian culture and history and introduced us to the untouched parts of our galaxy and beyond! We witnessed the eclipse of Venus and were so lucky to spot comet Leonard. What a night, one of 1001!

Der Abend im Beduinenlager wurde mit einem köstlichen Mahl gekrönt - das in der Glut gebackene Brot war einzigartig. Seine anschließende Sternenführung sensationell!!!

Im Rahmen unseres Tauchurlaubs wurden wir im Resort 'The Oasis' auf die von Diaa angebotene Astro-Tour aufmerksam und durften mit ihm einen wahrhaft magischen Abend erleben! Diaa hat uns einen unvergesslichen Abend geschenkt, uns mit seinem enormen Wissen beeindruckt und uns mit seinen Erzählungen verzaubert! Nach diesem Erlebnis werden wir den Sternenhimmel künftig mit anderen Augen betrachten und uns immer wieder an dieses einmalige Erlebnis erinnern! Wir waren im August 2021 in Ägypten. In unserem Hotel war es witterungsbedingt selten möglich zu Schnorcheln. (Mr.) Diaa, den wir bereits mehrere Jahre aus vorherigen Aufenthalten kennen und sehr schätzen gelernt haben, machte nach nur einem kurzen Anruf, einen uns unvergesslichen Tag möglich! Wir wurden von Diaa am Hotel abgeholt und zu zwei traumhaft schönen Plätzen mit grandiosen Schnorchelmöglichkeiten, u.a. Schildkröte und Adlerrochen, gefahren.
Im Anschluss an diese unvergesslichen Stunden ging es weiter in die Wüste. Obwohl dies nicht der erste Wüstenausflug mit Diaa war, waren auch diese Stunden atemberaubend. Abgesehen von seinem breitgefächerten Wissen und den mythischen Geschichten die er seinen Gästen auf unglaubliche Art und Weise vermitteln kann, war die Milchstraße, der Jupiter mit seinen Monden und der Saturn mit seinen Ringen ein absolutes Highlight!
Natürlich wurde auch, durch Diaa persönlich, an das leibliche Wohl gedacht. Nach einer herrlichen Suppe, gab es (vor Ort) gegrillten Fisch, Scampi und dazu diverse Salate. Abgerundet mit einem Glas Rotwein verließen wir die Wüste und Diaa fuhr uns zum Hotel zurück.
An dieser Stelle noch einmal 1000 Dank an Diaa für diesen unvergesslichen Tag. Wir freuen uns bereits jetzt auf ein Wiedersehen im Jahr 2022….

Вам обязательно надо увидеть, как солнце садится в ветви пустынной акации, наскальные рисунки, флору и фауну и встретить рассвет) А еще Diaa невероятно вкусно готовит. Очень советую посетить экскурсионный тур в Восточную пустыню, окунуться в атмосферу живой природы и настоящего восточного гостеприимства!
Unser Sohn wollte unbedingt Kamelreiten und zuerst waren wir skeptisch, am Ende müssen wir ein Kamel kaufen... :-) Aber die erste Skepsis verflog bei der Fahrt zu den Beduinen. Diaa ist ein super sympathischer Guide, der unheimlich viel erzählen kann. Die Kameltour war toll und das Gespräch im Anschluss bei Kaffee mit Ingwer und Hibiskustee bei den Beduinen war höchst interessant. So viel über die Ägyptische Geschichte weiß sicher kaum einer und Diaa hat es einfach toll erzählt. Das veranlasste uns auch, sein Angebot zum Sterne schauen anzunehmen. Mit Dinner - selbstgekocht! Ich kann nur sagen, dass das Essen weltklasse war und ich bis dato nicht wusste, dass ein Mann auf dem Mond beerdigt wurde, dessen Grabkrater wir dann durch das Teleskop gezeigt bekamen. Auch Jupitermonde und Saturnringe sahen wir. Mit den wunderbaren mythischen Geschichten ging der Abend später als geplant zu Ende - man konnte einfach nicht aufhören, zuzuhören. Wir haben keine Sekunde bereut! Absolut weiter zu empfehlen - nicht nur wegen der Kameltour, der sehr freundlichen Beduinen, des Himmelszeltes in der Wüste und des leckeren Essens - schon allein wegen Dir, Diaa, ist eine Tour mit Dir ein MUSS!
Sierpień 2021. Jako wielbiciele gwiazd i astrofotografii chcieliśmy zobaczyć jak wygląda nocne niebo na pustyni. Dowiedzieliśmy się, że taką atrakcję może nam zapewnić Diaa. Ze względu na jasno świecący księżyc prawie w pełni nie mogliśmy oglądać pustynnego nieba w całej okazałość, ale Diaa wynagrodził nam to opowieściami łączącymi starożytny Egipt i cuda gwiezdnego firmamentu. A kiedy skończyły się opowieści z 1001 nocy, Diaa przy pomocy teleskopu pokazał nam gdzie na księżycu wylądował lądownik misji Apollo. Dodatkowo oglądaliśmy planetę Jowisz blisko opozycji oraz planetę Saturn z pięknymi pierścieniami. Całe 2 godzinne doświadczenie uprzyjemniała nam herbatka z hibiskusa i kawa z imbirem.
Gorąco polecam wycieczki z Diaa zarówno dla obeznanych z gwiezdnymi konstelacjami jak i chcących zobaczyć piękno nocnego pustynnego nieba.
Jeżeli nie interesuje cię nocne niebo, Diaa zapewni inne w wyjątkowe wycieczki również w dzień. Możesz odwiedzić ciekawe miejsca historyczne i kulturowe. Podróże jeepem przez pustynie, malowidła naskalne, ruiny, świątynie, grobowce, wielbłądy i jazda konna. To i wiele więcej, wystarczy tylko porozmawiać z Diaa.
Spontan konnten mein Mann, unsere Tochter und ich einen Trip in die Wüste zum „Sterne schauen“ (und fotografieren) bei Diaa buchen.
Ein grandioser und atemberaubender Abend. Durch das Teleskop von Diaa konnten wir den Saturn mit seinen Ringen und den Jupiter mit einem kleinen Mond sehen. Dazu gab es eine glasklare Milchstrasse und Sterne ohne Ende zu sehen.
Diaa erzählte sehr viel über die mythischen Geschichten zu den Sternbildern, über die Geschichten aus 1001 Nacht und erklärte ausführlich die Sternkonstellationen. Dazu gab es einen vorzüglichen „Ginger-Kaffee“ gekocht von Einheimischen.
Da ich mein Stativ und Kamera dabei hatte, konnte ich diese unvergesslich himmlischen Momente fotografieren und kann diese Erinnerungen mit meiner Familie und Freunden teilen.
Es lohnt sich.

We went on an Astro tour on 21st October 2020, and we didn't expect anything unusual, but we were surprisingly shocked!!!! Diia's stories about Ancient Egyptian history, myths, stars - they're all like a fairy tale!!!! I was all my ears, not to miss a thing!!!
But even his stories can't be compared to what we saw with a telescope!!! We saw Jupiter with four moons, Saturn with its rings, the Moon and the nearest galaxy!!!! I was just screaming with delight!!! It was AWESOME!!!JUST AWESOME!!! Something I couldn't ever imagine seeing!!!!

Unser 10jähriger Sohn, mein Mann und ich haben im Herbst 2019 mit Diaa einen grandiosen Ausflug in die Wüste bei Marsa Alam gemacht. Er ist ein Universitätsprofessor (glaube für Geologie und Astrophysik) und hat ein umfassendes Wissen über Geschichte, Geographie, Mythologie, Biologie. Er versteht es dies in unterhaltsamen und spannenden Geschichten zu vermitteln. Er war komplett auf unserer Wellenlänge und hat uns einen Einblick in die Wüste und Ägypten abseits der Touristenströme gegeben, das Licht, die Stille, die Natur, der Sternenhimmel....
Unglaublich was er aus seinem Jeep alles hervorgezaubert hat. Besonders beeindruckend war neben dem köstlichen selbst zubereiteten Abendessen, das Teleskop und die speziellen Laserpointer, deren Licht gefühlt tatsächlich bis zu den Himmelskörpern gereicht hat. Wir haben uns so wohl und sicher gefühlt bei Diaa, ein gebildeter, abenteuerlicher Freigeist und gleichzeitig gut und professionell ausgerüstet. Leider waren wir insgesamt nur eine Woche in Ägypten, aber wir hoffen bald wieder kommen zu können und träumen davon mit Diaa einen mehrtägigen Ausflug quer durch die Wüste nach Luxor zu machen.
Wir können allen die etwas Besonderes erleben wollen wämstens empfehlen mit Diaa auf Tour zu gehen.

It was Christmas, and there were no excursions. But, we booked a completely private trip to the desert. We drove to a camp in the desert, got out of the car and saw an overwhelming starry sky. What a beautiful place to peer up.
We would like to come back for a multi-day excursion.

My kids (9&11) and I went on the Sunset desert tour with Diaa in October 2019 and enjoyed it very much. Starting with a fun jeep ride from Marsa Alam we discovered the nearby desert and learned a lot about life in the desert, Egypt’s past and enjoyed a camel ride and dinner while watching the incredible Milky Way. Diaa has a great expertise and explained and showed us interesting astronomical phenomena. I can highly recommend this trip and would love to go on others, too, with Diaas guidance. He is well experienced with a lot of knowledge and you can tell he loves what he is doing as both nature and the countries long impressive history are his elements.
Me and my boyfriend were in Marsa Alam in 2014 and we had a trip with Diaa in the desert.
We went there with a Jeep and we had a delicious dinner in the desert. Afterwards Diaa showed us the sky full of stars and explained us the constellation.
I will keep these moments in my heart forever since it was a great experience. Diaa is very professional and has a wide natural background. We’re still in contact with him and hope to come back to Egypt soon.

Een aantal jaren geleden onverwacht met Diaa meegegaan met een tocht door de bergen van Marsa Alam. Er waren nog twee vrouwen mee die foto’s wilden maken. We zijn eerst met Diaa door de bergen gereden. Onderweg hebben we de Bedoeïenen vrouw Amna die daar leeft met haar geiten meegenomen. Daar werden we in mooie doeken gewikkeld en heeft Diaa mooie foto’s gemaakt ook samen met Amna. Wat een ervaring was dat. We hebben ook nog wat hout gesprokkeld om mee te nemen om daar een vuurtje mee te maken. Toen het zand heet genoeg was is hier een heerlijk brood in gebakken. Wat smaakte dat heerlijk. Ook de Bedoeïenenkoffie man Mustafa was super lekker. En normaal drink ik nooit koffie, maar deze vind ik heerlijk. Helaas was het die avond bewolkt en konden we niet naar de sterren kijken, maar Diaa heeft met behulp van zijn telefoon ons toch nog een hoop geleerd over het sterrenstelsel. Dit was een avond om nooit te vergeten. Anderhalf jaar later hebben we de tocht nog een keer gemaakt en hebben we ook gegeten bij Amna en Mustafa. Toen Amna mij zag werd ik gelijk in de rode doeken gewikkeld en hebben we samen brood gebakken. Wat een lieve vrouw is het. Ook heb ik haar gevraagd of we nog even naar de geiten konden kijken. Diaa had die avond heerlijke gekookt en we hebben met z’n allen ervan genoten. Gelukkig was het die avond helder en konden we de Melkweg zien en ook met de telescoop de maan van dichtbij bekijken. Wat weet Diaa een hoop van het sterrenstelsel en de natuur in de bergen en de woestijn. Het is elke keer een belevenis om met hem mee te gaan. We gaan eerdaags weer naar Marsa Alam en we hopen dat we deze keer weer een mooie tocht kunnen maken of een paar mooie duiken kunnen maken met Diaa. Mocht je naar Marsa Alam gaan het is zeker de moeite waard om met Diaa mee te gaan. Een aardige en hele betrouwbare gids die je veel kan vertellen. Diaa tot snel en we kijken er naar uit om je weer te zien.
Wir haben im November die Wüstentour mit Diaa gemacht. Es war wunderschön, er hat ein unglaubliches Wissen über Ägypten und über die Planeten und Sterne. Der Ablauf von dem Ausflug wurde schon mehrfach beschrieben, ich kann diesen ohne Einschränkungen empfehlen. Es war ein sehr schönes Erlebnis.
Last year May Diaa organized a full 3 day excursion program in Cairo for us. We had booked a hotel ourself in Cairo and the flights from and to Marsa Alam. We gave Diaa the free hand in arranging a 3 day program. Our demands where to see a lot of the ancient monuments.
He really made us a very good offer and the program was superb. The days where very exciting and informative and included the best thinkable service. Our driver mr. Ali brought us all over. And our perfect Dutch speaking and very knowledgeable guide Nedal gave us very good explanations about the sites we visited. By having this personal organized program you have the best time of your life and doors that are normally closed get open. And things and events you have never thought about as a tourist will happen. We really recommend Diaa and Marsa Alam Adventure safari and are already planning our Eastern Dessert Safari the next time we will visit Marsa Alam.
Wie bei jedem Urlaub in der Brayka Bay, waren wir auch dieses Jahr auf einem Trip. Jedoch nicht die allen bekannten Monumente erweckten unser Interesse, es sollte die Umgebung sein. Wüste, Leben der Menschen, die wohl ältesten, wirtschaftl ich bis heute genutzten Edelstein Minen der Welt. Bei nur einer Woche Urlaub und für Diaa gerade Mal 2 Tage Zeit, organisierte für uns beide diesen Trip mit Fahrer und Guide incl. Lunchpaket, zu einem fairen Preis. Entspannt starten wir pünktlich um 8:00 am Hotel. Nach kurzer Vorstellung und Einführung geht's flott in Richtung Wadi El Gamal Nationalpark. Unterwegs mit vielen Infos versorgt wird es mit jedem km entspannter und wir tauchen in eine ganz andere Umgebung ein. Der Distrikt M. A. Verändert sich hinter Marsa M. Alarm. A. verlassen wir mit letzt Stopp an einer Raststelle und Zufahrt in den N.-Park die Straße. Ab jetzt für lange ZeitGeröll- und Sandpiste, die unser einheimischer Fahrer einfühlsam meistert. Reisefest muss man sein. Ich bin es sicher nicht und musste dann auch auf den Zustieg zu denen Minen verzichten. Der alte in den Fels gehauene Tempel, die Minenstadt und die Landschaft haben mich entschädigt. Unterwegs, hin wie Rückfahrt sind von kurzen Stopps für Fotoshooting und Erklärungen zum Überleben in der Wüste unterbrochen. Am Ende unseres Ausfluges verabschieden wir uns herzlich und in voller Achtung vor den Menschen, die hier seit so vielen Jahren als Volk leben. Wir kommen wieder und freuen uns jetzt schon darauf die mit Diaa neue Trips zu machen.

I’m an photographer and a didn’t had my camera with me because I thought al the sand and dust will it destroy it. I regret it for 100000% and so borrowed dia his camera to me! So kind I have beautiful pictures of the dessert and sunset it was a once I. A lifetime experience to see the milky way al al the thousands stars

As part of my dive holiday in Egypt, the Oasis Hotel in Marsa Alam recommended Diaa for tours. He kindly arranged a tour of the museum and the pyramids in Cairo, with a very nice and knowledgable guide who picked me up at my hotel and spent most of the day with me. Diaa also took me on the jeep tour into the desert near Marsa Alam, where I had a great ride on a camel, learned a lot about the region and history of Egypt. We then had a delicious dinner under the stars and were able to see and hear all about the constellations with Diaa's amazing telescope. Diaa provides a caring, personal touch to his tours and has so much knowledge to share with his guests. I highly recommend his tours.
Wir waren im Dezember 2019 auf einem Ausflug mit Diaa Shawki. Wir fuhren am späten Nachmittag mit dem Jeep in die Wüste, wo wir jede Menge Informationen über Menschen, Pflanzen und Tiere erhielten, konnten beim Sonnenuntergang die malerischen Farben in den verschiedenen Gesteinen bewundern und haben am Abend ein leckeres, selbst gekochtes, traditionelles Essen inkl. Kaffee bei einer gastfreundlichen Beduinenfamilie genossen. Das Highlight war natürlich der unglaubliche Sternenhimmel, den man so wohl nur in der Dunkelheit und Stille einer Wüste erleben kann. Auch hier gab es fachkundige Erläuterungen zu Sternen, Sternbildern und Planeten. Für uns war es ein rundum gelungener Ausflug, den wir nach unserer sicheren Rückkehr ins Hotel an der Bar gemütlich haben ausklingen lassen. Bis zum nächsten Mal, Diaa! Viele Grüße aus Deutschland.
Yesterday I enjoyed a marvellous experience in the desert with Astrovieing in end. Thank‘s to our exquisit Guide, Mr Diaa, who gave to us interesting informations about geology, history, culture of the bedouins, plants in the Desert and a wonderful dinner with traditional coffee and tea.
Most impressing has been the time, that he offered to us to really experance the silence and special atmosphere of that extraordinary place.

Meine 14jährige Tochter und ich haben im Oktober 2019 die Sunset horse - Tour bei Diaa gebucht.
Vor allem meine Tochter ist ziemlich reiterfahren. Es hat uns super gefallen!
Die Pferde waren sympathisch, aber auch sehr lebendig.
Die Guides kannten ihre Tiere gut und gaben uns entsprechende Anweisungen.
Am Anfang mussten wir ein paar Schritte vorreiten, um zu zeigen, was wir bereits können.
Wir haben uns immer sicher gefühlt. (Einen Helm gab es aber leider nicht zum Ausleihen. Deshalb, wenn möglich, selber mitbringen.)
Die sunset- Fotos gelangen einmalig!
Diaa begleitete und zum Startpunkt und holte uns am Ende beim Strand wieder ab.
Auch wir durften im Oktober 2019 die Astro Tour mit Mr. Diaa genießen. Es war ein tolles Erlebnis, an das wir uns immernoch gerne zurück erinnern.
Der Einblick ins Leben der Beduinen, das leckere Essen und natürlich der tolle Sternenhimmel, mit den Geschichten und Erläuterungen von Mr. Diaa waren sehr beeindruckend.
In der Stille der Wüste fernab der Zivilisation fühlte man sich wie in einer anderen Welt.

From the start of our tour I was interested in your experience of geological and the life of the bedouin, with the first drawings on rockstones, rhe camel ? ? who lived there in the wild. The dinner made by you and your bedouin friends, the moon ? with the landing place of the lunar module Eagle in 1969.
It is amazing what Diaa knows and tells us about history, geologic, astrology, food and the live of mankind. Thank you ? for sharing this with us and if we will go back to Masar Alam, we certainly will book a new adventure with you as our guide ?

Wij hadden een overnachting in de woestijn. Alles was keurig geregeld. We sliepen in een tent en kon vanuit je tent de sterrenhemel zien. Diaa kon ons alles vertellen over de woestijn en de sterren en liet ons een planeet zien door middel van een telescoop. Wanneer het avond is zag je heel mooi de sterrenhemel en melkweg met het blote oog. Daarnaast heeft Diaa hele mooie foto's gemaakt van ons en de sterrenhemel. Dit was een hele mooie ervaring om nooit meer te vergeten.

Zojuist een geweldig leuke vakantie gehad in Marsa Alam. Brayka Bay is erg goed ondanks de verbouwing die er nu gaande is. Heel erg mooi was de woestijn excursie met een overnachting in de woestijn. Onze reisleider Diaa had het erg goed georganiseerd. En wat heeft die man een goed verhaal over de sterren en de woestijn. Een avontuur om nooit te vergeten. Diaa, bedankt hiervoor. Volgende keer vragen we jou weer.

We hebben de excursie kamperen in de woestijn met onze 4 kinderen ( 12,18,21,26 jaar ) gemaakt en het is een absoluut hoogtepunt geworden in onze vakantie . Een ervaring om nooit te vergeten ! Als de kinderen herinneringen ophalen over vakanties, altijd in luxe hotels, mooie plaatsen , dan is dit de beste herinnering die ze hebben! Verwacht geen grote luxe maar ga op in de ervaring. De stilte , de sterren, de sfeer , fantastisch ! En Diaa is een geweldige gids, een bijzonder mens met heel veel kennis. Niet twijfelen gewoon doen, niets te verliezen , alleen maar winst ! ( en de dag erna lig je gewoon weer in je te luxe all inclusieve hotel )
We have made the camping trip in the desert with our 4 children (12.18,21.26 years) and it has become an absolute highlight in our vacation. An experience to never forget ! If the children recall memories about vacations, always in luxury hotels, beautiful places, then this is the best memory they have! Do not expect great luxury but immerse yourself in the experience. The silence, the stars, the admos atmosphere, fantastic. And Diaa is a great guide, a special person with a lot of knowledge. Thank you so mutch
The first time we visited Egypt was in the year 2004. Since then we are regular guests in this beautiful country.. After several places we came to Marsa Alam and not without a reason. We had read about a special Egyptian, so special we wanted to meet him. We found the hotel (Brayka Bay) were Mr..Diaa Shawki's office was established. Wenn we booked our first trip we realised that indeed this was a special men. His knowledge is endless, everything you want to know about Egypt, the people, it's deserts, the stars or animals will be answered..The stories he tells are never enough, you always want to hear more. The trips are never the same, everytime there is a new story, a new beautifull desert view. You will never forget the kind Bedouins. you visit. And Diaa's cooking skills … wauw! The trips are well organized and if you like it to be personalized? No problem: what you want is what you get.
We are grateful we met Diaa Shawki and the knowledge he shared with us. We always say: if you haven't met him your bucketlist is incomplete. Looking forward of seeing him again this year and we hope you will meet him too some day. He is a garanty for a vacation you will never forget.
Here is a piece from me about our experiences with Diaa. A very knowledgeable guide, who has a lot of knowledge about the history, and certainly not just about Egypt and the stars. Wherever he goes he knows how to tell about everything there is to see in the area. I met him for the first time in 2015, and I went to the desert with 4 people. Beautiful surroundings, great food, and beautiful starry skies. Nubian residents take care of you together with him. The next time in Marsa Alam in 2016 with a larger group will be wonderfully out and about again, and see super moon coming up in 2017. Diaa, has more to offer. The best thing was that we were able to meet Diaa in our own country and show him Scheveningen and the Kurrhaus. He knew more about that than we did. We think he is a super guide. Due to our own private circumstances we have not done anything with him in the last two years, but in the future we hope to be able to change that when we go back to Egypt. You cannot get a better guide when it comes to precision, hospitality and knowledge! He is always helpful, together with his employees.
I travelled to Marsa Alam with my 2 teenage children and we had the pleasure of meeting Diaa who looked after us so well on our Desert Safari. He is an extremely knowledgeable, educated man who had many very interesting facts from astronomy, botany to Egyptian history. We were all fascinated. The scenery in the desert was incredible - not just sand dunes, as we were expecting, but mountainous with lots of interesting things to see. It was also fascinating to hear about Diaa's work helping Bedouins and locals to set up schools, housing etc. We had the pleasure of meeting a Bedouin family and enjoying a meal with them - the beautiful Bedouin children were so proud to show us their goats and their Mother made delicious flat bread for us to eat. After the sun set, we sat back under warm blankets watching thousands of stars, including the milky way, while Diaa explained the constellations and science. A magical tour not to be missed.
Booked wonderful excursions at Diaa with the highlight being sleeping in tents in the desert. An absolutely unforgettable experience! This adventure stays with us forever and has made an indelible impression on the children (13, 18, 21 years old). Of all the luxury in the all-inclusive resort, this excursion has stayed with them as the best. Don't expect luxury but a wonderful experience. Regards, family from the Netherlands

Ho fatto un tour nel deserto con Diaa qualche anno fa ed è stata un’esperienza meravigliosa: abbiamo dormito nel deserto con le tende, abbiamo ammirato la calotta celeste e sembrava che il cielo toccasse terra, ci siamo immersi all’alba in uno scenario da favola. Tutto sembrava magico. Il cibo era ottimo e abbondante, meglio che in hotel! Diaa è una persona splendida, sempre gentile e con molta esperienza. Sempre pronto a dare spiegazioni e informazioni. Grazie a lui abbiamo visto una parte d’Egitto non turistica, così abbiamo goduto appieno delle bellezze che ci circondavano. Grazie Diaa, ho davvero dei bellissimi ricordi e spero vivamente di ritornarci, perché l’Egitto ti rimane nel cuore.
Wir waren im November 2019 mit Mr. Dia auf der Wüsten/Astro Tour. Gestartet vom Brakers Bay hatten wir die Zivilisation schnell hinter uns gelassen. Ein sehr schönes Erlebnis den Sonnenuntergang und den Aufgang des Sternenhimmels mitzuerleben. Auch orginal ägyptisches Essen kennen zu lernen ein tolles Ereignis

Diaa heeft een geweldig hotel aan de nijl geregeld en zelfs een Nederlands sprekende gids!

We made the sunset tour. This was a great tour! Dia is a very nice person and have a huge knowledge of the desert. He told us many stories and we learned a lot from him. He cooked us a great meal and gives us the chance to taste the food of the region. Afterwards we watch the stars and again Dia knows everything!
It was a great tour to do and we have very good membranes of it.

We went on a trip with Diaa to the desert to look at , explore and learn a lot about the desert and it’s amazing different sceneries. It was a wonderful day, we drove for a while and eventually arrived at a beautiful spot where we had heaps of time to take photographs and walk around.
It’s amazing how much Diaa knows, about almost everything haha. The desert and it’s geology, astronomy, Egyptian history and he tells this information in a really entertaining way.
When it was about to get dark, we drove to the second location to watch the supermoon, eat self made bread at a campfire, drink some wine and listen to these amazing stories Diaa told.
I’ll never forget my real first time in the desert, it was a fun and unique experience. Thank you Diaa!
Wunderschöne Wüstensafari
Letztes Jahr im März buchten wir eine Wüstensafari bei Diaa. Zuerst waren wir etwas skeptisch, dachten was will man in der Wüste schon sehen....Steine und Sand halt. Doch das legte sich schnell!
Diaa hat auf unbeschreiblicher Art und Weise unter anderem erklärt, wie die Tiere von speziellen Pflanzen leben, wie er den Beduinen zu einem besseren Leben verhilft (einer "echten" beduinin sind wir zufällig begegnet), warum der Skarabäus für die alten Ägypter als heilig angesehen war, alte Malereien gezeigt, ein echtes lybisches wüstenglas gezeigt und die Geschichte dazu erzählt, ein hervorragendes Essen im Beduinendorf serviert und zum krönenden Abschluss seine riesen Kenntnisse über die Sterne Preis gegeben und durch sein Teleskop blicken lassen - es war einfach nur beeindruckend und mehr als empfehlenswert!
Unsere individuelle Ägyptenrundreise
Was macht man, wenn man immer schon die Pyramiden gesehen haben will, aber keinesfalls eine Pauschalbusreise buchen will? Man wende sich am besten an Diaa !!!
In einer kleinen Gruppe von 7 Freunden erfüllten wir uns diesenTraum, in Ägypten Kultur, Geschichte und Natur in einmaliger Weise zu verbinden und dazu noch weitgehend selbst bestimmt und individuell zu reisen.
Mit Diaa fanden wir den perfekten Organisator vor Ort, der mit seiner langjährigen Erfahrung, seinem Einfühlungsvermögen , seinen Ideen und seinem Organisationstalent für die perfekte Umsetzung sorgte.
Es begann in Kairo, Rami unser lokaler deutschsprachiger Guide führte uns mit seinem unerschöpflichen Wissen ausführlich in die Geschichte Ägypten ein, theoretisch aber vor allem praktisch: Sakkara, Gizeh mit Pyramiden und Sphinx, Altstadt mit Moscheen, Kirchen und Synagoge, Museen und Basare. Ruhige Momente in schönen Restaurants, am Nilufer, auf einer Dschunke auf dem Nil bei Sonnenuntergang rundeten die lebhafte und chaotische Großstadt Kairo ab.
Weiter ging es mit dem Flugzeug nach Luxor. Diaa hatte dort für uns, und nur für uns, die schönste Villa, die man sich vorstellen kann, direkt am Westufer des Nils mit Blick auf Luxor Tempel gemietet. Freie Zeit verbrachten wir gerne auf der traumhaften Dachterrasse und in unserem eigenen Pool. Dank unseres Kochs können wir jetzt auch einige typische ägyptische Speisen selbst kochen. In Luxor dürfen das Tal der Könige, der Hatschepsut Tempel, Karnak und Luxor Tempel nicht fehlen. Da wir aber immer genügend Zeit eingeplant hatten, durchstreiften wir zum Beispiel in Karnak die hinteren Bereiche der riesigen Anlage und konnten 2 Stunden lang ohne weitere Touristenmengen die vielen Tempel besichtigen.
Nach 3 intensiven Tagen ging es weiter im Minibus nach Assuan. Staumauer, unvollendeter Obelisk und Philae Tempel sind sehr interessante Ziele, aber das Beste war unser Besuch inklusive Übernachtung in einem der nubischen Dörfer. Mittendrin im Leben der Dorfbewohner, die gerade den Geburtstag Mohameds mit einem großen Umzug feierten. Da unser Guide Diaa die Menschen dort sehr gut kennt, wurden wir als echte Freunde empfangen und eingeladen mitzufeiern. Sie zeigten uns stolz ihr schönes Dorf. Die Übernachtung und das Essen waren so liebevoll hergerichtet, wir genossen es sehr, dort sein zu dürfen.
Am nächsten Tag ging es nach Abu Simbel, der Besuch der versetzten und damit geretteten Tempel von Königin Nefertari und Rames II sind wirklich sehenswert. Ein weiterer Höhepunkt wartete aber schon auf uns am Nasser Stausee: Ein kleines Boot, mit dem wir auf den See nach Norden schipperten. Idylle pur, nur wir 7 plus unser toller Guide, ein freundlicher Soldat zu unserer Bewachung (oder bewachte er etwas anderes vor uns?) und 3 Mann Besatzung. Schlafen konnten wir im Salon oder gleich unter dem Sternenhimmel auf dem Oberdeck. Abends hat das Boot in ruhigen Buchten angelegt, wir haben Dünen und Berge zum Sonnenuntergang erklommen, im Stausee gebadet, immer frisch gekochtes leckeres Essen genossen und nicht zuletzt himmlisch geschlafen. Der Nasser-Stausee faszinierte uns mit seiner Weite, Variationen in Blau begleiteten uns und die Ruhe wurde höchstens mal von ein paar Pelikanen oder anderen Vögeln unterbrochen, sehr gelegentlich sahen wir mal ein Ein-Mann Ruderboot das zum Fischen unterwegs war. Nach 3 wundervollen Tagen ging es wieder zurück im Minibus nach Assuan zu unserem Nubischen Dorf, in dem wir mit großer Herzlichkeit wieder begrüßt wurden. Dort entdeckten wir eine grandios gelegene Bar in der wir von Bob Marley persönlich Tee serviert bekamen und genossen den Sonnenuntergang und später funkelnde Sterne. Als Abschluss unserer Reise haben wir uns für Camping in der Eastern Desert entschieden und bereuten dies keine Sekunde. Enorm abwechslungsreiche Landschaften, sprießendes Grün, da es eine Woche zuvor geregnet hatte, seltene Tiere und eine super freundliche Beduinenfamilie bereicherten unsern Urlaub. Sonnenuntergänge, aber besonders die Farbenspiele der Sonnenaufgänge faszinierten uns so sehr, dass wir statt 2 Nächte alle 4 blieben, um diese einmalige Atmosphäre in vollen Zügen genießen zu können. Nachts hatten wir das große Glück, jeden Abend die Milchstraße, funkelnde Sterne, jede Menge Sternschuppen sowie dank Dias's Super-Teleskop spanende Details der Jupiterringe und Saturn-Monde zu entdecken. Beim Schnorcheln in Abu Dabab eine seltene Seekuh beobachten zu können, war grandios.
Diaa hat die Reise perfekt organisiert, unsere Wünsche durch eigene Ideen bereichert und für einen einzigartigen Urlaub gesorgt. Wir sind ihm zu großem Dank verpflichtet und sind sehr beeindruckt von seinem Organisationstalent, seinem außergewöhnlichen Engagement, seinem umfassenden Wissen und seiner wunderbaren Betreuung.
What seemed to be a lazy sun holiday eventually became a holiday with an adventurous touch! It started to itch after a few days at the pool bar. After a bite of a fish and a fall in the shallow coral, resulting in a couple of big leg wounds, snorkeling was a one-off venture. Back at the pool bar I drank away the pain in my leg. The unrest in me brought me to the reception. "I like it here," I told the desk clerk, "but I would like to see more than the pool!" She made an appointment that same afternoon with a man who organized excursions. I met him in his small office in the lobby. I just got out of the sun and had a red face. The guide introduced himself as Diaa Shawki. "What exactly do you want?" He asked me. Yes I didn't know that either. See something. He suggested some optional excursions. I immediately felt excitement, because I liked it all. The desert, the stars, the food in the desert, the dolphins and the turtles. What and when can this and that and can it all be done? Easy, easy, calm doen said Mr. Shawki. I heard myself talking with my heated head. What a rest, what self-control on the other side of the table. This made my head glow even more. I was ashamed of myself. I was an eager customer. Too eager! Diaa, familiar now , provided an unforgettable excursion. With incredible dedication and knowledge we drove and walked with him through the desert. He cooked a delicious dinner that we ate in the desert and showed us the beautiful starry sky at night! Diaa is a driven figure who is able to convey his wisdom with a lot of charisma. And let me not forget the delicious coffee from his friend Mostafa. Wat een prachtige avondtrip gemaakt naar de woestijn met de zeer deskundige Diaa.
We werden verwelkomd met Egyptische koffie, daarna vertelde Diaa over het ontstaan van de "sterrenhemel", over hoe de planeten lopen en welke constellaties ze vormen.
Daarna mochten we door professionele tekescopen kijken; we zagen de Pleyaden en andere mooie planeten.

Helaas was er voor ons dit keer geen tijd meer (vakantie is altijd te kort ;-) om een trip overdag te maken of een overnachting in de woestijn.
We zouden graag nog keer de woestijn safari (adventure safari) doen, hoorde van andere gasten dat die geweldig is.
After several great experiences when we did the astro tour with Diaa previuously, we wished for a longer stay at this beautiful place and booked camping. it was just great: after an, again, very interesting tour through the desert with it's unique sceneries, we enjoyed a delicious dinner and with increasing darkness more and more stars were shining in the night sky. With the powerful telescope and wonderful explanations of Diaa we were able to discover exciting details like the rings of Saturn, the moons of Jupiter, the Venus and much more. Our tents, already equipped with everything you need for sleeping, were already waiting for us. We could let the evening end very comfortably, enjoy the silence, the peaceful atmosphare and the stars. Especially shooting stars inspired us. While falling asleep in the tent the stars of Orion and the Pleiades sparkled beautifully above us. After a really restful sleep in the middle of this lovely nature without any disturbance we were woken up by a unique color spectacle of the sunrise. Purple tones changed to blue, turquoise further to pink, orange and yellow with the rising sun. Nowhere else have we seen this so great. This great morning continued with fresh Bedouin coffee and tea and ended with a delicious breakfast. We will definitely come back to this lovely place with the best guide you can find.
Wunderschöne und stimmungsvolle Touren in die Wüste
Wir haben im Dezember 2019 mit Diaa zwei individuelle Touren in das wunderschöne Hinterland von Marsa Alam unternommen. Diaa ist ein sehr kompetenter Guide und besitzt ein fundiertes Wissen zur Geschichte, Kultur, Naturkunde und Geologie des Landes. Bei der Abendtour besteht darüber hinaus die einmalige Gelegenheit einen perfekten Sternenhimmel zu geniesen und durch das Teleskop astronomische Details kennen zu lernen. Die Wüste bei Nacht ist ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis!
Wer fernab von Massentourismus und -events das Land und die Leute näher kennen lernen möchte ist hier bestens aufgehoben - eine ganz klare Empfehlung und 5 Sterne.
